Panaji: State government on Monday signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with corporate houses and institutions to participate and support Goa in education, skill development, social, environmental and health sectors, among others.
Goa CSR Authority signed MoUs with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Aether Energy, Central Institute for Indian Languages (CIIL), and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII).
Sawant said that he has created the CSR Authority to ensure that CSR projects are routed through it so that timely implementation and maintenance of projects is undertaken with the help of corporate and institutions within the state and outside Goa.
The CM said that the NIMHANS will support the state in the areas of stress management, teachers’ education, and life skills as per new education policy (NEP) 2020. The EDII has proposed to support the state in building one of the most entrepreneurship-friendly destinations in India by promoting entrepreneurship education, training, policy research and incubation support across the state.
Sawant said that Ather Energy will set up 10 EV charging stations to cater to E2Ws, E3Ws and E4Ws across the state.
He said that CIIL will take up development of Konkani and other languages of Goa through production and improvement of academic resources.
The CM said that the World Bank has proposed to support government in the areas of blue economy and coastal management — livelihood, education and skill development specially for women, plastic waste management and coastal cleaning.
Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) will provide support in the areas of funded research projects, training to officers in the power sector of Goa government and setting-up a centre of excellence at Goa.
